How to paint birds in watercolor: step by step tutorial for beginners

I love how colorful and bright you got your colors here! So positive! maybe try to avoid sharp lines like the outline of the wings or of the belly. it will more natural look. But your washes and color transitions look lovely

Do you have any tips on how to avoid those hard edges? I used a mixed media (90% bamboo cellulose, 10% cotton)... probably it gets dry to quickly, right?

Yeh you are right. Cellulose paper tends to dry very fast and the paint stays on top of the paper surface instead of getting absorbed by the paper layers (in case with cotton). You can try to add another layer starting at the spot where you see the dark line (belly for instance) and then carefully wash the edge of that layer inside belly away from the darker line with a semi-wet brush. But if I were you I would not touch this painting :) Leave it as it. And practice washing out edges with a semi-wet brush on a separate piece of paper

I´m quite happy with the background but shadow, light and feathers I need to improve. ;)
