Town View

The majority of the pixels in the original photo are upper midtones and highlites (the sky, the roofs, some of the greens in the foreground) . There are some pixels that are pure white, so some detail was lost likely on the houses. A number of pixels are also in the shadows area, from the trees and bushes. I'd call the picture high contrast.
When editing the photo, I wished to create a bit more contrast but also lower the overall brightness slightly (I thought it was too much in the highlights). In the levels, I did not want to touch the blacks and whites, but I dragged the midtones slightly to the right to achieve just that. In the curve, I created a control point a little lower on the shadows for more contrast, but also one on the line in lower midtones, because I wanted to keep some contrast in the greenery in the foreground.
