Here's an example project where I've scanned three of the shoes I was coloring in class:

The first illustration of the flats/ballerinas was made with layering, using just one marker for creating the shades & highlights. For the outside I used a Copic Sketch E23 and for the inside the E31.

The second illustration was made with a desaturated blending group and for the purple suade material I used BV00, BV11 and BV34. For the inside E00, E11 and E23.

The third illustration of the red high heels was made with complementary colors: The red leather with R12, R24 and R37. For the complementary shading color I picked BG13. For the inside I went with my favourites again: E30 & E31 with a complementary shading: BG93.
