This project was so much fun!
Drawing shapes I gravitate towards and like to start with when facing a blank canvas made it easy to just do it rather than overthink a l l the possibilities. I also got to explore the latest version of Affinity with this specific approach and learned using very versatile tools for illustration and surface pattern design.
First sketches included one element that didn't make it into the final illustration:

And I thoroughly enjoyed producing the inky marks and lettering elements:


I am considering replacing the car with a furry animal - a cat with spots or stripes, a panther, tiger, etc. - because the car is ok, but I'd like to add some more texture/inky marks and like drawing big cats even more than cars. Either way, I am pretty happy with the final result of this piece:
