The "Judy Garland" Rose
I have always known the rose with brilliant colors of red, orange, and yellow as the "Judy Garland" Rose.
I have to say, this was just like every detailed watercolor flower class I have taken—the most challenging for me! I believe that doing art has helped me better understand the learning curve I struggled with in school. Before I can apply color, I need to study each petal carefully; I often find it difficult to discern where a petal starts and ends just by looking at my sketch. I can't envision images in my mind; I can only see what is in front of me.
That being said, this demonstrates how art therapy can be beneficial in many aspects of life. Each time I work on a subject, I gain more understanding for when I tackle it again in the future. It took me yesterday and today to complete this class, but as usual, I'm happy to say, "I didn't give up."
Thank you again, Will, for continuing to educate us on art philosophy. You have so much knowledge, and I feel that each time I take one of your classes,er off if I remember just one thing. :) :) :)
I have so many of your classes to catch up on, but there is only so much time in a day. This year, I'm exploring different mediums to make use of some of the materials I have lying around collecting dust. In doing so, I've discovered that I really enjoy working with soft pastels, which feels like a win!
