I've had this idea for a character for a couple weeks. She's a ghost hunter who isn't decided on whether she actually believes in ghosts or not. For my sticky note wall I've been trying to come up with a clearer idea for what kind of person she is and how I can build a plot around her adventures where she tries to figure out if ghosts exist. This exercise helped me brainstorm her character beyond that initial flash of inspiration and figure out why there would be a ghost hunter who maybe doesn't believe in ghosts. I think I'm going to continue to work on it as I figure out the plot. Maybe I'll get some red string to connect notes like mysterious tv characters do sometimes as I think it fits the character I'm building. Any tips?
