Textural Abstracts

This was exactly the type of project I needed to round off a week spent in front of my Mac. I've been wanting to explore the use of salt with watercolor for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to see how it behaves. Having come from a printmaking background it was great to revisit found textures such as plastic wrap and bubble wrap to make wonderfully unique areas within a piece.

I'm not keen on black line so kept it to a minimum, preferring to use white markers instead. I tried to pick up the movement and flow within the pieces and just added marks that spoke to me. I delighted in looking at the happy accidents and felt there was some space/ galaxy vibe happening.

It was a very enjoyable project and I can certainly integrate it in my sketchbook work.
