Very cool idea. I just moved into a new place and really don't know too much about my landlords, so this would've been really helpful. Also really love your illustrations – sort of has a Bob's Burgers feel to it.

Thanks Barry! There are websites that have reviews but we've taken a much different approach with user experience which I think will lead to much more fruitful data and reasons to keep returning to the site (:

I think this is a great concept!  I have been in the same place with wonderful landlords for 8 years!  They definetly need an opportunity to be celebrated!  We are too fucused on the negative-platforms to highlight the positives are wonderful!

This is SUCH an amazing idea. I will think on some tips for using twitter for you. I used to live in NYC too and had an INSANE landlord. With all the reviewing sites out there to keep this targeted and away from personal attacks too is genius.

Love this idea. This sounds like an amazing app that can totally help people find a great place to live. I can see this potentially being able to expand to the tenant side as well, to help land lords find easy tenants. I can't speak for the NY market but I know in LA that personal friends have gotten apartments over other because of their "psychological profile" if you will. :)

It's tricky on both sides right when it comes to information that is subjective between black and white factual issues. I'm going to do my best on both sides of the equation to keep it as factual as I can, thanks for the idea!

Oh this is AWESOME. If and when I pack up and make my fortunes in NYC (is only going to be New York specific, do you think?), I'll definitely be using this app:)

Looks like you have a winner here Josh.... There might even be some type of data that comes out before a person moves into a home. People might look to this app to see if their new landlord is listed in your app... Who knows....Go for It!

I've sold quite a bit of real estate and this seems great for property management! It would've helped me rant about a nasty landlord or two and saved the next tenant some heart ache and deposit theft.

Hi Josh. In this app, could i specify random notes about my landlord. For example in a past apartment i used to live in everything was perfect except for their strict and picky mentions to us about how our balcony looked. (they once sent us a letter that we cannot have our brooms and mop in the balcony. (so we covered the balcony rails)

Hi Ori, thanks and you'll definitely have the option to write comments outside of using our game(s) and wow yeah outside of fire codes I'm surprised you heard anything about your balcony???

Loving the interactivity. From a consumer perspective its a great resource, as a realtor a good way to highlight the buildings with positive feedback.

if the tweets are humorous people will understand that part of your purpose is entertainment (not 100% landlord advice all the time). Or, the superhuman landlord could tweet disclaimers from time to time stating that he can't talk to a million residents in one day, but he will try to take care of as many people as he possibly can

Hi Megan, thanks so much, it's not presently in the plans, I worry a bit about personal attacks people might make, but I plan to offer resources to try and bridge issues between tenants. There will be the ability to talk about the type of people in the building so I guess you'll certainly be able to summarize now that I think of it (:

Awesome! A summary of things like noise-levels, dog density (hah, I'm in an 8-unit with 7 dog owners!), laundry availability, etc would be so super helpful. I think you're app will be a huge hit!

I love it! I live in Houston, so I guess for right now, the game doesn't work for me. But that's quite alright. I love your Twitter gamification concept anyway. Slumlords are everywhere. So with this, Josh, you're really on to something. And sure, there are a ton of people who are great landlords. But we all KNOW that PEOPLE LOVE TO COMPLAIN... Especially when they're pissed. So your app sounds like a winner to me! And like for the rest of us,here; our social media exploits that we position have got to be spot on, to get us exactly where we want to go!

Hey Josh! I love this! I used to live in Manhattan actually on 11th, not far from Bleeker so I was smiling the whole time I read your project. What a great idea! If we could have passed along the information we had about our landlord when we moved it would have been great! I think that in cities this will be great!Your idea about Twitter is a very good one and very much a way to get engagement. I'm guessing that the contractors or actual vendors you'll have responding to the needs will be businesses you've selected and that have paid a sum to be in your database. . . We loved our apartment, it was amazing, but the landlord was a bit "absent" and not very responsive so that's always good information for new tenants to know. Showing them the value will certainly help build your database of good vendors. Nice!

Love the graphics style! Is there a particular twitter account from which you'll be tweeting from that I can follow? Or is it more just a grand idea of having other tenants and landlords embrace these ideas?

If I should just use my main "housing book" twitter account to write from and respond to hashtag posts or should I create a unique twitter account for each landlord? I was thinking to do everything from our main account but would love feedback thanks!

Sounds like it would be less messy in the long run to just run things from your own account and not worry about creating individual accounts for everybody. Question to think about though.. I'm sure there will be tenants and landlords out there who, while their data/info might be very useful to your cause, either don't have a twitter account, or will not care to create and use one. Do you have a backup plan for this? Do you have other means of publishing or generating the same info if this is the case? Or will it not matter because all the info will be stored in the app to begin with? Sorry if that's unclear or anything, hope you know what I'm getting at

Chris thanks so much, great ideas and questions! The app itself will be standalone to use on your desktop or phone. The Twitter side is more for engagement with existing and potential users with their own issues. It's sort of like stump the landlord. Does that make sense? I'm with you on the single account, I'll just need to have system to identify which landlord is talking...

Like #sociopathlandlordsays ... almost like a "Confucius say" kind of thing. I think those hashtags have a high chance of becoming popular as well, because people can quote their landlords outside of those on the app or in NYC, and then you can track them down and invite them to the app. Love it!
