Taroudant, Morocco/Sidi Hmed Boujahd Family, January 2021 - student project

Morocco,"2nd Most Developed Tourist Destination in North Africa."

Westerners also find it a safe haven, overflowing with an amazing untapped culture, food of a unique palate, lovely and hospitable locals and very agreeable accommodations.

Still, "poverty is at about 2.40 percent." Many families struggle to bring home just 50 Moroccan Dirham a day. which equals 4.01 American Dollars.

BACK STORY:

The family did not want to be named individually, due to political reasons. I lightened up the pictured, as it had just stopped pouring after days and days of torrential downpour, loss of power and no heat, Finally the sun shone, and I did not realize how the rain damaged the walls. I lightened the picture just to show the effect of the sun and how the rain impacted the integrity of the wall. Food was scarce and everything was wet and yucky prior. You can see the impact on everyone's face, demeanor and just the details in the picture of the room itself.

This is a project I am working on. I moved to Morocco and remarried during Covid, I immersed myself in the Moroccan Culture (I have always wanted to live there since childhood), and I made it happen. This is a series in which at the moment, I only have access to this one. This is a story I believe in, as I lived it for almost a year now. I also visited Mauritania and LOVED it. I plan to go back, and I had a wonderful villager assist me as a guide.

Morocco is my new home though, now I am in New York temporarily.

I was born in the United States, reverted to Islam, and moved to Morocco. I am still quite amazed at how the worlds most learned men and women still are not aware of the phenomenal and rich African culture which affects us worldwide as human beings. I feel Africa is simply the best.

Your class REALLY inspired me. I can't wait to take part in all your other courses. i will answer your question assignments next.
