Blender 3D for Beginners: Model a Low-poly Sword and Environment

Wow Mel! Your render looks awesome! I love how you made the sword design entirely your own! You've really grasped the techniques from class and put them to great use bringing your vision to life! First up, the modeling of your sword is perfect. It still has a distinctly low-poly aesthetic, but manages to be rich with small details! The overall shape of both the grip and blade are very well done. The curved blade in particularly is very striking when paired with the intricate grip details. The smaller details such as the slight variation in the edge grind of the blade and the golden ribbing on the grip really bring the sword to life! Your materials are equally great! The rich gold, striking silver and vibrant red gem really draw us into the world. Each of them have a nice contrast with the materials they're adjacent to, allowing them to really pop. The dark wood grip below the golden ribbing is a great example of this! Lastly, the environment and lighting frame the scene nicely. The bright blue and orange lighting provide chromatic contrast while the modeled environment help us get a sense of the world this sword exists within! Overall, a fantastic class project!
