The collection of spot illustrations is based on a Balkan country that is quickly becoming a favourite among travelers--Albania.

Set A features familiar sights and icons that are typically associated with Albania. Ottoman architecture, Communist era bunkers and Albanian food.

Set B goes more in depth into the cultural quirks and historical underpinnings that shapes Albania and Albanians. 

For instance, I used an hour glass to depict the sands of time that shape Albania from the Ottoman times to Communism to the present. Another is a comedic take on how Mercedes Benz is a symbol of social status in Albanian society.

But I realised on hindsight that I need to reduce the detail in the artwork even more because they don't necessarily translate well on a magazine, it is really my weak point and I have to work on it haha.
