Splattering
I loved, loved, LOVED the loose flower project, definitely a style of painting that I want to explore more. Admittedly I did go back and refine the stem and strengthened the colour of the flowers a bit as I went a tad OTT with the paint bleeding.
The starry sky I tried as a small square instead of an oblong. I had done an exercise like this one before so thought I’d try out a new way of spattering using an old dry paintbrush and flicking it off the edge of a scrap piece of cardboard. This produced small dense spatters. I then built on this by adding more paint and water to the brush which produced larger less predictable splatters. A nice budget friendly way of creating similar effects!
