This is a glimpse into a day of songwriting with Ellen O'Meara, folk singer-songwriter in Austin, Texas. She tends to write songs about the grit of life with with her nylon-stringed guitar, open notebooks, American Spirits and a mug of whiskey nearby. Her smooth alto melodies are thoughtful and haunting. I loved spending a day with her, and hope this was just the first of many.
