My new watercolor painting of an elephant combines a dark cyan color with my own handmade pigments. For warm textures and shadows, I used freshly fired clay from a 950°C kiln glazed with a little Jarosite. I prepared the pigments inside these shells to bring a piece of my favorite coast into the studio. Thank you for the inspiration for painting the elephant.
