Drawing Portraits: Sketching Eyes, Noses, Mouths

Hi, These are looking good! You've got a strong likeness in all the eyes so there is really nothing to add there. Its hard to tell from your photo if you have strong black values but that could be something to exaggerate just a bit more. Also just check that any areas of white paper in your drawing are the lightest areas in the photo. The wrinkly guy eyes have a lot of white in and around them which means you lose some of the depth like what you have achieved in the child's eyes. Again hard to tell if thats just the photo being a bit overexposed so ignore if you feel there are no extra white areas!Mouths are looking good. Maybe a hint more black in those ones too, just finding the very darkest parts (Im struggling to give any advice to improve these!)Noses, again, great likeness. Just another couple of layers shading needed to really make them pop out of the page. You can work on lessening the pressure of your pencil anywhere you want to blend two layers together.Well done with all of these drawings! Emily
