I had a bunch of square blank cards and decided to make an inspiration set of design cards, where each explores a different shape or combo of shapes. Some use both positive and negative shapes. Several are clearly inspired by Rex Ray’s work. 

This was challenging because I usually like everything to be “just so” and I had to let things be wonky. It always seems like “everyone else does wonky better” (ha!) but I was happy with these in the end. I love the leaves, the vases, even the bowl-type shapes in yellow and orange, which are not my favorite colors. The Alien Televisions (well, that’s my name for one of the shapes) always make me smile.

I really loved this class and look forward to doing the proper project.
