Sewing a simple skirt

I just wanted to try out a few techniques with zero pressure, while not having access to any supplies, because I was home testing positive for Covid. So I took an old bedsheet and dyed it to this dark green colour I found in a bottom drawer. Then I went ahead and used this super simple (free) pattern to make a flowy trapezoid skirt from diydaisy.com.

Really pleased with the final result and definitely more confident to go fabric shopping now! And I also got over my weird aversion to the iron :D

Also please enjoy my almost lined-up side seams with my very much not matching thread. Decided to just take an orange thread, so it looked like a fashion statement ;)

I am very pleased with my clean finished edges, will definitely do those again.

Thanks for the great class, Denise, I had a really good time (and I say that as someone, who loves to start projects and then gets overwhelmed immediately) and can't wait to dive deeper into sewing!!!
