Sea Turtle Painting in Watercolor
Hi everyone! :)

I want to start with sharing my materials that I used in the creation process:
- burnt sienna, raw sienna, burnt umber, ceruleum blue, sepia/black watercolors (from Nevskaya Palitra White Nights)
- table salt
- 2 cups of water
- cotton towel
- Canson XL watercolor paper (A4 size, 300 gsm)
- pencil and eraser
- A4 size office paper (80 gsm) for tracing process
- no. 1 and no. 3-4 size synthetic brushes
- reference image
- ceramic/porcelain dish as mixing palette

Steps that I followed in the process of creation of this sea turtle:
-
simple watercolor techniques that I used in the process of painting the sea turtle
-
tracing the sea turtle with just pencil and office paper
-
painting the head of the turtle
-
contining with its skin and then legs by leaving white spaces to imitate its unique pattern
-
applying the first layer with wet on wet on the turtle’s shell and using salt to give texture and highlights
-
editing the final piece and fixing small mistakes on the painting
Here is my result.
