All our systems were down at the space station. We'd been impacted by an unexpected unusual encounter that none of us yet could satisfactorily describe or explain.

What might happen next could be catastrophic for everyone on our planet.  We desperately needed to establish an internet connection to prepare them for this eventuality. We'd already spent 36 hours seeking a fix, swapping sleep for the caffeine pills that Scott had stashed on board.

It was Marie who made the break-through, she managed to remotely access her daughter's PC in their home on the outskirts of Cork city in Ireland. It was the family dog Pickles who heard Marie's voice and alerted the rest of the family to gather around the PC.

The crew managed to sound the alert and with their valuable information a plan was devised to avoid disaster.
