Roulin Bear
Here are some sketches of a bear statue I saw outside a post office in southern Oregon. It's modeled after Van Gogh's postman friend, Joseph Roulin. The "shape blocking" and "single line" experiments worked the best. The one-line method was kind of relaxing, and I've been using the blocking method with some other sketches. As to the "focused looking" method ... apparently I am not as observant as I thought I was. Also, much like a camera, my left-hand drawings make the subject look 10 pounds heavier ....! Tacked some other experiements to the end of this project.
Thank you, Emma. :)
