Retro Kitchen

Retro Kitchen - student project

I greatly enjoyed this course, and for the first time since my recent foray into painting, felt totally at peace and in the flow with what I was doing. Although Ohn Mar and I seem to have a lot of similar taste in kitchenware, I did work hard to find shapes and lines that I found personally interesting.

My first two pages were done in shades of blue and green watercolor with a pilot pen line on top (since my painting values were so light, it didn't make sense to draw on top of them with white)

Those first two pages were supposed to only be a warmup, but I ended up finding some shapes I really loved, and wanted to do the process again with some new acrylic gouache paints I had recently purchased. You'll notice I repeat my favorite shapes throughout each trial.

Nothing gets me more excited than large color fills with little black accent lines, so I decided to paint and draw some retro furniture pieces too.
