INSPIRATION

Found some inspiration on pinterest and looked around at some nice hand lettering to get ideas. If you type in type poster design or hand lettering posters you should find some good examples

SKETCHING + INKING

After picking a quote that would work well I started sketching out some layouts in boxes on just normal paper. It's good to do multiple iterations of these sketches so you have different design layouts to pick from. After that I made the final design bigger to about 3/4 A4 Size and then used tracing paper to trace over it to get clean lines. 

             

VECTORIZING

I did some minor edits in photoshop just to clean it up a bit and then imported the sketch into illustrator. I used the pen tool and shape tools to build out each shape and letter. Using guides rellly helps out in this process and It helped me create the anchor points in the right section.

FINAL DESIGN

I messed around with the colours to get a more christmas vibe going but was overall pleased happy with the how it looked on the mockup.
