Re-Acquaintence w/ My Brushes
Started painting with watercolors in 2019. Then Covid, and all classes and contacts abruptly stopped. Tried to start again, but big deal family stuff: I served as teacher for my grandaughter during 3rd grade in my home, and my eldest daughter had a cardiac arrest. And more. Enough context, I am starting from scratch again. This was a good lesson for me during this process. Thanks, Amarylis!

Not a rigger fan, but do like the “fan brush” which is sometimes friendly with the deerfoot brush. I was surprised by how much I have come to enjoy those.
Pre-pandemic, I referred to all the blenders and shaders simply as flat brushes. Now I am wondering what these are meant to do and how to use them to best advantage. Anyone have info on that?

Another discovery: some brushes labeled “ultra round.” These seem to have more of a point. Not sure why I didn’t notice them before as I constantly use round brushes, now to learn how to get more loose with my strokes. Has anyone used a pointed "ultra round" brush and have know how? These come in 8, 10, 12, but not smaller.

Filberts are my new buddies. I love using them and keep discovering more they can do, even made discoveries on this little demo card. My filbert collection contains a “Pointed Filbert,” and I’d welcome ideas about making the best use of this brush.
My round detail brushes get the job done while I’m loosening up.
I do not recall ever using an angular brush previously. But there they are, quite a few. Any ideas how to make the most of angular brushes?
Confession: I have waaaay too many brushes. Some were on sale in a pack and they seem adequate, but they are long. I rarely use them. I’d welcome knowing if anyone ever had long brushes they cut down to watercolor size.
