Practice Piggy

Even though I don't have Adobe Illustrator have been wanting to learn more about designing greeting cards and found Delores's Piggy class very appealing. So, have one way or other figured out how to go through the steps of that class using AD1 and AD2. Here is my practice card:Practice Piggy - image 1 - student projectThe majority of this was done in AD1. Was able to fill in color on the pig after inking the lines so they barely touched, expanding the strokes, and then separating the curves. I learned that work around from a you tube tutorial about how to imitate Adobe's blob brush in AD.

I have very few fonts on my iPad so had to make do - could not figure out how to do a drop shadow so opted for an embossed look on the Hoggs & Kisses.

The one effect I had to do in AD2 was to arch the top type "I'm Sending". That version of the software has a set of tools to do such transformations after the type is already in position. In AD1, you have to create the curve shape first, then put type on that curve....

Overall I learned SO MUCH from this class and am very pleased with the results. Thank you Delores!
