I sketched places I have lived, using my own photos as references. After finishing the first versions, I felt the drawings were a little too busy, and the perspective and focal point didn’t quite work. I redrew them with a few compositional changes, like removing the boat and bringing the tower closer to the center, which made the sketches feel more balanced and better captured the atmosphere I was going for. I still think there’s much more I could explore with light and shadow, but I’m much happier with these versions.
Also, need to remind myself to simplify more and not trying to draw every single detail.
