I have been a student of World War 1 for several decades and have acquired a sizable library of first-person accounts, including those by Pershing and the American ambassador to Germany, as well as military manuals from the period and a bound copy of the STARS AND STRIPES newspaper from the war. These, along with a large postcard and stereograph card collection, give me a good sense of what conditions were during the war.
