Premiere Pro CC Video Editing For Beginners: Learn Video Editing In Adobe Premiere Pro CC

I'm working with PP CC and when I go into my preferences - general I dont see half as many options as I see on your screen. Is it because I'm on my laptop? or do I have a different version than you?

Hi Marie, thanks for the question; Adobe tends to update Premiere Pro quite often, but they don't change much. They more or less just move things around. If they introduce new features that would benefit beginners, I'll add new lessons for that (Like the new essential graphics panel lesson that I've included for titles).

So if you're on the latest version, it will look a bit different than mine, but you'll still be able to follow along with the course. Are there specific settings that's preventing you from finishing the course or learning how to edit?

That being said, in the preferences, some of the tabs were just moved to further down the list (Like the part about 'mono' settings in audio. In one of the updated lessons, you'll see some info about that.)

Thank you Will! I have a CS5 version of everything (including PP and AE). Is it too far behind to follow your tutorials/classes? I've invested in this version a few years back and just don't have the opportunity to pay monthly at the moment. Will I still be able to follow most of the stuff? And does Dynamic Link still work the same? Thank you so much!

You should be able to follow along, some things have been updated though. Dynamic link still works in the same way. I'm not sure if it will work for you though since you're on an older version.

Hi there, Please see answers below: 1. Premiere Pro is for video editing, so typically you edit your video in Premiere Pro and if you want any effects done, you use dynamic link from within Premiere Pro to send footage to After Effects. Then you do the work in After Effects. Once completed, simply save your After Effects project and it will update in Premiere Pro. For setting up your video size, that entirely depends on what footage you're working with. If you're creating a video from scratch, for example an animation in After Effects without footage, then typically you would choose 1920x1080, or 3840x2160. 2. See answer 1 please. 3. For a paint reveal effect, that would normally be done completely in After Effects. Or if you're working within Premiere Pro, you would do the workflow explained in number 1. 4. See answer 1 please. Please help me: I'm a Photoshop Expert, but i'm quite new to PremierePro and AfterEffects. I'm confused how to set up videos and work with both PP and AE.

By completing the course, it will help you understand Premiere Pro, which will be a great starting point to then jumping into After Effects. You can also take my After Effects course once this course is completed and that'll be a great transition!

1. what is the proper set up and workflow for Premiere Pro CS5 and AfterEffects CS5, how to initially set up my video (size, type, etc).
2. Do i start in Premiere and go to AE or what's the proper setup?
