Mastering Sound Design - How to Build Better Soundscapes for Your Video

<p>Hi, Ore, this is such a wonderful piece, very well done. I love the overall quality and the narration, as well as the ease with which the story flows. It is superb. </p><p>The sound effects add a lot to the story and I would love to hear more of them. Try to visualize the space in which they are happening and what could be heard in it. The room tone is a good addition, although an active ambience would probably liven up the space in which the story is happening. This could be as simple as a clock in the background, an open window with the sound of the city coming in or something entirely different. </p><p>Also, you could try to play around with panning the sound effects, positioning them in the space around the narrator. You can try the same with the narration, for example with the cry, move it around in space, see if it works for the piece. You can even add some sort of a reverb to it, so we have a feeling that we are with you in the kitchen. </p><p>Maybe some of this could work, play around with it, have some fun. Awesome piece, thank you for sharing it with us.</p>

Dusan, thanks so much for your feedback. It was definitely a great piece to work on. I'll look into the suggestions you made. I particularly like the idea of trying out movement around the space for crying out and the active ambience. I was thinking I could add different ambiences / sounds for the kitchen and living room so that it the change of location in the story is even more obvious.

With this course, it has been amazing being able to "see" the sounds in any piece. In regular life, I feel like I am more conscious of the sounds around.

Thank you very much, that really means a lot. I love that you can visualize the sounds, and I really hope you continue up this path, as sound is such a beautiful art to work on. And yes, I think different ambiences for the rooms would bring a lot to the overall sense of space. 

I am currently working on my next course, and I very much look forward to releasing it and having some feedback from you guys. :)
