October @ The Natural History Museum: Reptiles

This is a poster I designed for a fictional event: Reptiles at The Natural History Museum. At the time, I was very fascinated with displacing thresholds in an image with two color contrasts over another color background. I chose the vibrant color scheme as a visual call to the poster with several layered images of reptiles (October seemed fitting as, while I enjoy reptiles, some find them horrifying).
Below are two more iterations of the same poster. You will notice the same general layout with minor changes in color and placement. As Chip Kidd notes in the class, testing multiple versions can help get a better sense of what ultimately works. I was satisfied with the double layered version above, and that's the one I'd say represents the final work.
