Days 1-5 SO FAR
For these prompts I have chosen to use markers and a black pen. Maybe colored pencils if I feel the itch.
Day 1: Greetings From Pilot Mountain
Greetings from Pilot Mountain, NC. A few months ago I moved into a little house that my great grandparents built. There are a few acres to run around on, and it feels like its in the middle of nowhere, but it isn't really. It's not exactly a farm, but we have 5 chickens! They should be laying eggs soon. One of them lets us carry her around. I have been collecting goldenrod from the field to dye fabric. We like it here.
Day 2: PAST work routine
I worked at a corporate job in apparel design for 5 years. I would get up at 5:30 every morning in order to find a piece of myself before the one hour commute on the highway to sit in a room with no windows. I would count the hours until I could go see my dogs at the end of the day, when it was already dark outside again. It was nice to look back at all those moments and remember the good in them, like going on walks outside in the parking lot and staring at the ants and tiny flowers growing through the cracks in the pavement. I am thankful for those years, but more glad to be where I am now.
Day 3: PRESENT school routine
I quit my corporate job last December to get my masters in educational media. I get to go to school remotely and set my own schedule, which can sometimes be problematic. Also we don't have a TV, and not really great internet, so I do a lot of cooking and reading and sewing. It's nice actually.
Day 4: FUTURE dream day
While I am not exactly sure what my future routine holds, I can imagine what I would call a "dream day". But not a day without work or chores, but dream work and dream chores! I would love to have cows to go with my chickens and make a morning out of caring for animals and vegetables that I grow. Then continue work on a passion project, hopefully using my skills and interests. Ending the day with a game night with friends where I share food and laughs with cool people.
Day 5: Mindful of...
On this day I did my sketching at a desk in the attic. The house we live in is from the 1940s, and there is no insulation in the attic, but there is carpet and wood paneling so it's like a regular room. It is chilly outside now so the leaves are changing on the trees and I am changing into my thick woolen socks. Here are some of the other sensations I experience in the attic.
