Now Complete: Bright (!) Gouache Florals
I started with Exercise #2 first, Creative Composition. I wanted to test out some new gouache colours and I used these 5 colours (+white) exclusively.
This is the first time I've added black line to my gouache florals...I like the effect.
Next I attempted Exercise #1, Isolated Colour Palette, with 3 main colours: purple, peach, and green. It's a bit of a hot mess, and my line work needs work, but here it is:
The above image is from a scan with a little Photoshop editing.
Below is the actual spread in my sketchbook. I managed to get a nice photo in natural light, and I prefer the subtle difference in colouring here.
Before tackling the third combo exercise, I did another test page of newly acquired gouache colours, and tried out some floral doodles, using photo reference from my garden :)
After deciding what elements I liked and didn't like, I went for it (!!) with a double-page spread in my sketchbook:
Thank you Peggy for a great class! And thank you classmates -- your work is inspiring!!
I welcome any feedback :)
