No Effort Painting

No Effort Painting - student project

Here are all the paintings I made (and showed) during the class with their original counter parts. Enjoy. =)

Lesson 1: How to Choose Color

These were examples I made in my day to day no effort sketch journaling practice.

Special days: It was pride parade here in Warsaw so, a rainbow.

Feeling: Color green in the titles coming from the feeling of "freedom".

Person: Here you can see that the yellow color represents my son and lilac represents my wife.

Here there was also place/location where we choose the colors based on our subject but I put that in the example for lesson 4, letting colors mix.

Lesson 02: Coloring the Subject

In this lesson we painted 2 of them. On the left the original and on the right the ones from the lesson.

Lesson 3: Coloring the Title

1 or 2 colors is enough. Don't over do it.

Lesson 04: Letting Colors Mix

You can see how the yellow light of the cafe is mixing with the gray and otherwise boring walls outside and create this radiating warm feeling.

Lesson 05: Making A Mess (on purpose)

Again, the one on the left is the original and the one on the right is the one from the lesson. What a mess! =D

Lesson 06: Splashing

Here I have the same example from lesson 5 but on the left before black splashes and on the right after so you can see the difference. It's much more expressive this way.

And this one below is the example of different color splashes. The left one is the one I made during the class and has green splashes, matching with the title and the feeling of "freedom". On the right I have my original but I splashed black on it. Thanks to that it has a much more aggressive look.

Lesson 07: Leaving White Space

You don't have to paint everything. In fact, don't! It's okay to leave white space. These examples below are also showing that you can paint different sections of the drawing and still make it work.

I think this was all. As always, leave a comment if you have any questions. Or just to say hi.

See you on the next one.
