My third painting

My third painting - student project

Ok so really not happy with this one.  I was going to throw it away and start again after messing the sky up so many times.  But figured I would finish it and try again this weekend.  I tried doing it in layers but realised early on that wet on wet was the key and then I tried to kinda fix it with wet on wet after a while but by then I was kinda lost.  Found that I was overfocused on trying to blend colours, but found this futile wet on dry as I am not good at mixing colours to get similar ones I used the last layer lol.  I have retarder now so need to play with that some more to make wet on wet work.  I am not fast enough to do it without it I think.

Not going to throw this away now as it is growing on me, and I could put some more time into the reflections and sharpen up the tress etc etc.  BUT I am wanting to move away from trying to get it right and rather have fun, so calling this a painting.  Really looking foward to doing this one justice again very soon as it is a lovely painting that I have as a reference from Brigitte and I really want to do it justice.  :)

I had my first in person lesson with Faith Cunningham here in Wollongong NSW Australia last week and my next tomorrow, she is showing me how to do wet on wet so that is exciting!

Loving the classes Brigitte, so thank you very much indeed.
