My summer favorites

My summer favorites - student project

This project gave me the perfect excuse to try using copic markers. I bought them a couple of years ago but haven't really used them, I guess I need a skillshare class to learn the basics. These are the materials I used:

That marker pad says bleedproof.... not at all, it feels smoother to the touch, that's all, in my opinion it's a fancy, more expensive version of cartridge paper. I need to find out what kind of paper people usually use with copics. Anyway, it was interesting. I'm so used to watercolors that it felt awkward trying to blend with these markers. Also, the limited color palette was quite the challenge but I did enjoy trying to figure out what colors to use.:

Prompt 1 : Summer treat for me it's berries and sweet peas! Since I moved to Finland I have learned to appreciate the sweet taste of finnish berries that are sold everywhere during summer time.

Prompt 2: My favorite summer drink is Hibiscus iced tea (in Mexico we know it as "agua de jamaica") and I love it!! A big glass with bunch of ice and that's all you need. I have loved this drink since I was a kid.

Prompt 3: My happiest summer memory is enjoying an open air concert with my best friend :D It started raining and we didn't care, we spent hours under the rain.

Prompt 4: The summer style I always dream about is bohemian /mori girl fashion, with long skirts, thin, breeze layers, cute feminine ribbons and lace accents in earth tones. Apparently the setting is important to me hahaha!! so I draw myself enjoying a good book under a tree.

Prompr 5: When I think of a summer landscape, I think about green and flowers everywhere with blue skies and puffy clouds. Looks like spring but for me that's summer (for me spring is just melting snow and sprouting greens and summer is blossoms and peak of life).

Oh, and forgot to mention I made it in zine format because I just took a skillshare class about how to make mini zines from a sheet of paper and it felt perfect for this class! :D
