I probably did something a bit different, but as I usually paint a lot of details , for me it has been incredibly difficult not to, this time.
Here is also the reference photo that I used.
So I started with a pencil sketch, then added some watercolor lines leaving a lot of white space in between. Then, I painted the center of the flower with some simple color dots and finished the drawing with some semi-abstract leaves. I then erased the pencil sketch. 
I hope this example can be an inspiration for someone!at the end, I really liked the result. Thank you Chris for making me change my point of view!
