My own experiences with customer (or student) delight
Teaching has never been this much fun for me to do, and I have had my own fair share of experiences when delighting my students in every class that they attend with me. One practical change that benefitted me the most was when I would always treat each of my students as important clients because as an ESL tutor, you always need to make them feel like they are so important to the class by giving more opportunities for them to speak more often than the tutors, acknowledging all of their sound responses, and actively correcting their most common mistakes so that they will remember that you have helped them tend to where they went wrong. I also try to build a strong and familial relationship with my business English students by remembering all of their names and a little bit of information about them so that I can ask them about how their lives are going so far, for example, or why they are still learning from me in the class. It is also important to establish good teacher-student rapport because your students are craving their desire to be liked and cared for by their tutors. When there were some exam takers who would need to ask for my helpful advice on how they could pass their next IELTS exam or even their TOEFL test, then, of course, I always stay true to my promises to them and give them practical and useful tips for free that would motivate them even more to get passing scores from their next English proficiency tests.
I have been delighted as a customer before, and that was during the time when I would often buy the books that I've always wanted to read from this online bookshop, and I still order from their store from time to time. Every time I order from their store, they would often leave a "thank you card," which means that they were always thanking me for every product that I was buying from their store, and they would also appreciate it if I would give them a 5-star rating so that they could attract more customers to buy from them in the future and increase their store's popularity as well. That's just such great dedication for them to continue sending me thank-you cards even though this wasn't even my first time buying anything from their store, and I feel like they have an unlimited supply of customer acknowledgement cards to give to their regular customers just like me for free.
