Thank you really much for sharing your knowledge and teaching me how to craft my first pocket journal! It is much, much appreciated.

For my first journal, I decided to experiment a bit with the shape  and made it a square, and now I am working on another one with another shape. For cover paper, I used soft gift wrap paper I had around at home, and created a pattern on it by pressing it (worked out good). You can see that I also covered the tapes with it , because I kinda didn't like the idea of them being visible.  For the "skeleton" I used some normal cardboard from a box I found and it turned out great!  The paper inside is offset and bulky book paper - I loved how it feels with different types of paper - thank you a lot for this idea! 

I am really excited about taking this course and learning how to sew book pages and bind, how to create a whole journal. It is a skill  I will surely remember and will cherish a lot from now on.
