This was fun! I'm just getting started on procreate, and I picked up a lot of tips (I didn't know about the straight line thing, I just thought my pencil was broken -- and the two taps for undo is a huge time saver).

Adding some screenshots of the process - I've determined I have an oval shaped face, a taller forehead than average, and a slightly wider nose because I'm smiling in my reference picture :)

I went for a somewhat realistic style when I was getting the hang of all the different parts of the face, and then I realized what I actually want to convey is a lot of bright colors and doodley flowers. So.... I adapted. Behold:
