My Progress in Cursive

Hi! This is what my cursive handwriting currently looks like.

I have been trying to add some fluidity with speed and combined movement (muscular and fingers). Cursive starts to actually look like handwriting when you add speed, but it's always a challenge to keep legibility - which I always have in mind.

To give you a reference. I want to show you what it looked like about 4 months ago, when publishing my Skillshare Class on Cursive.

It's exactly the same principles. It's just important to be consistent in  practicing and trying to be intentional and mindful of the process.

After getting all of the forms and shapes in my muscle memory I have now been working on bringing all of this into calligraphy with Spencerian, which, by the way, shares the same foundation.

My Spencerian Script still a work in progress, but it looks nice, especially when I compare it with what my handwriting used to be for years.

I want to share with you a paragraph from my journal, so you can see how it all looked like before trying to do anything to improve it:

I hope this gives you some encouragement and motivation to continue working on your cursive. At times it may seem like a slow process, but believe me, it's very rewarding.

Do you have anything that shows your own progress? I would love to see it! And if you haven't already checked out the class, make sure to do so HERE.
