Drawing Portraits: The Layout

This is a great layout Sabina. Simple with accurate proportions which show a likeness. Even though this class is for creating the start of a portrait drawing, you've turned it into a nice little drawing on its own! If you were to start a full portrait drawing this way, just be sure to keep the lines super light so they dont show through your shading. Hi Emily, thank you for the feedback! I think I just couldn't stop and went on pushing my basic layout to achieve a likeness.Emily, you have a few other portrait drawing classes outside of this series. Is the same material covered in the series? I saw that one of them included drawing a 3D head which I would very much like to learn.

That's not a bad thing to want to keep working on a drawing :) The three in this series are the first edition. The other portrait classes are more recent and use similar processes but in more detail and with different reference photos.  You could finish this series of three and then work through the newer ones for practice.  OR you could do the one with the 3D heads next: <a href="https://skl.sh/4bR52H1" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">skl.sh/4bR52H1</a> The first part of it is a repetition of what you have already done very well with this portrait layout class so skip that part :)  Then do the features of the face of this series before doing the newer version classes on eye and nose and mouth. That way you are getting extra practice in and also getting the benefit of the extra detail in the newer classes. I hope that makes sense.
