Watercolor Portrait; Painting & Rendering Fur for Pet Portraits

Definitely not a water soluble medium but water mixable oils (well, oil paint) is so fun as well - and though the techniques we use for oils vs watercolor are different, this is still a beautiful cat portrait nonetheless! Beautiful texture in that fur!

Thank you. They are water soluble until dry. And, when glazing the technique is very similar to painting with watercolor. Thank you for the class. 

I use them as well :) couldn't be bothered using more chemicals than I already do. The term 'soluble' is unfortunately used by many even though they're not.They are regular oils; pigment + oil. The only difference is that the oil has been modified so it can be mixed with water - making them 'water mixable'.So they are just like working with normal oil paints - though the paints don't tend to feel quite as buttery due to the midified oil :) Super fun for anyone who prefers to work without solvents
