I'm happy with how my project is going so far, but am too scared to start adding in the details in case I mess it up!

I might scan my work so far into the computer and print out some copies, so I can practice drawing the faces before committing myself.

 Update: well, some of the final details worked better than others! I liked the idea of a sausage dog in wellies, but they are too itty bitty for the rest of the design. The beret was a last minute addition, as I thought I needed some black in the top left square, and now it's my favourite part! It makes the spaniel look like a fifties art student.

I've made a second grid, inspired by the ongoing (if one-sided) battle between my cat and my spider plants. The composition is a bit chaotic, but it has some nice elements.
