Mindless and mindful doodle exercise
For me, this has been a way to do let go of everything else and just play with my pens and whatever comes up. Maybe this would be a great way to empty my head before bed?
I'm sure I’ll come back to this exercise, I find it useful. My daughter, now 27, saw what I did, and said “oooh, I used to do that when I was little”! That made me remember the sheets with simple shapes intertwined with each other, that I used to have as a child, where I would do just this - try to find animals and people (mostly), or just colour the whole thing. I couldn’t find the exact sheets my mum bought me, but I found something similar, just as an example of the thought process this simple exercise started!
I’ve made several versions, the one down below is my first one.
Materials: sketchbook (Leuchtturm1917), Tombow 2B pencil, 0.8 Sakura Pigma Micron in black, Tombow ABT dual brush in 845 Carmine, white eraser
