I often need to put mics on actors singing in a musical. We use the Shure wireless mic transmitters with a WL93 mic element. The element is an omnidirectional, subminiature, lavalier, condenser microphones. The condenser part is to get the best quality sound possible. The omni-directional is the challenging part... we place it on the actors forehead, just in front of their wig cap or in their hairline. Because we are a school, this is the best mic element we can afford especially since we may have a cast of 20 or so who need to be mic'd.
