Mark Making with Found Objects

Mark Making with Found Objects - student project

In this sampler, I sectioned off my paper randomly like the way it was done in the Mosaic and mark making course. I also used the same colours of yellow, orange and pink from my M.Graham watercolors and a touch of white gouache. The mark making on top was completed using the same paints and found objects. I have included some of the objects in the photo; various sized bottle or tube caps, clear plastic sleeves that protect paint brushes, a plastic straw, a wine cork, some ball chain, a comb, a rubber trivet, foam ear plugs, a knitting needle, a plastic card, pallet knife, q-tip, cardboard. These were all items that I could locate without leaving my work table. The photo also shows a couple of Beam paint pans I used in another project. I will upload a photo my large sample once it is dry.

Here is my larger image.  I used the straw to blow the paint around creating the spikes. I am not sure if I like these or not but will I will wait a few days to see if that changes. If not, I think I will pull the edges in and deckle them to float the final piece. This totally outside the box.
