Lunch @ Bonelli's Bistro

Lunch @ Bonelli's Bistro - student project

I illustrated this meal from a cozy lunch date with a friend.. I loved the spicy kale and sausage soup and the coffee/bliss ball was a familiar favorite.

I experimented with using my brush pen for outlining and then filling the shapes with blocks of color with my 20-year-old Prismacolor markers. It was fun to try a "new" material (I usually use watercolor and tombow pens for my art journal spreads)

Then, I added a few notes about the chat we had and some of my feelings that day.

It's a fun snapshot of a moment this spring when I felt understood and I will enjoy looking back on this memory in my art journal. Also, I enjoyed layering the different markers and I'm sure I will use this technique elsewhere.
