love the bleeds into the water in the coloured one. In the monochrome one on the right you could take a stiff brush and lift a few horizontal lines out to lighten it up and suggest rippling on the river, but as you say you got it in the coloured one. Having said that I do like the broken strokes on each side of the monochrome ones, very effective.

Got a bit carried away with my nuisance bits on one of my monochromatic paintings, but got the gist of it in the colored version.
