Hi Nancy!

My moodboard was inspired by Frida Kahlo a Mexican painter, who had such a tragical, but still colorful life. My idea was to show the strengths and weaknesses of her existence in a bw/color format. I red a book about her which was a true inspiration. Facing so much tragic in your own life but still live an almost full one, shows a great life-affirmation, which worth to look up to.

What I also relized that Frida has such an amazing natural beauty in an unusual way. Her eyes tell such a story and she hardly ever smiles on any of the pictures was taken about her. But still if you look into her eyes you can see such beauty and pain together at the same time. She is truly an individual woman just like in the modern days Beyonce. I also see her as a natural and an unbelievably powerful person. Her passion, her voice, her videos always tell a story and she also has ups and downs in her life but never shows weakness to the world.

I think Bey's song "I was here" is the perfect match for these pictures. It has a message about existence and the need to feel noted. Frida and her life is the same for me...

So I wanted to gather Frida and Beyonce, tragedy and love, power and life-affirmation, bw and color in one picture to mmake a cool moodboard as a project assignment.
