Photo Editing in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom: A Beginner's Guide

Hi Tatiana! I love the way the greens in the background of your heliotrope shot really make those purples pop! Really effective editing there! I also really like how the deep, rich darks help make the bright highlight in the center stand out and define those flower shapes. Great use of bringing back those highlights in your kitty shot to help define the texture in their whiskers! I also love the color contrast between the purple florals and their golden eyes! Thanks so much for sharing!

But I still have problem with this two photos (and others too). I don't know, they just don't look so good for me and I'm not sure what it is. There isn't much... well, how can I describe it... cristal clear look? My kitty cat is so sweet of course, she's a cat so duh, but maybe you have some tips? Is it postprocessing or maybe lens (I use zoom 55-300mm f4.5-5.6 with Nikon d5500). Nah something is missing for me and it bothers me ; )

I think I know what you mean! I see other people's work and sometimes that super sharpness seems so out of reach for me! I've found that using a prime lens helps and making sure you're not shooting at the widest aperture so you've got a good amount in focus. Having a quick shutter speed (above 1/250) helps and so does post process sharpening! I always add in sharpening, usually pulling the slider halfway and then I add even more sharpening in the instagram editor too. I hope this helps!!

Thank you so much :* I was afraid it's time for new lens, but there comes a time in every photographer's life to buy new lens when it is really needed. It's good I was saving some money ;)

Outside, I'm shooting always without tripod and taking photos of birds, so 1/250 is minium for me.
