I love these iconic structures - they are so easily recognisable and appear in literature and movies as symbols of hope. I really wanted to find various ways of portraying them. 

 

I started with the warm up which was really useful as I knew I wanted to add a hint of sky in the backgrounds to 'ground' each lighthouse in a setting.

Reference from Pinterest was used to collect information before undertaking each lighthouse, so I had a good idea of the various parts of the structure. I kept the brushwork light and loose being mindful not to overlook each sketch.
